What "CHAMPVA Verified" means on this site
Every directory says "call to confirm." We are building the list of offices where the call has already been made.
The standard
A provider earns the Verified badge one way: their office confirms directly to us, by phone or in writing, that they accept CHAMPVA patients and bill CHAMPVA. We record who confirmed and when, and the badge displays the confirmation date.
Three ways a provider gets verified
- The office confirms with us. Practices can confirm in one minute through the provider page. Free, no purchase involved.
- We call the office. Our team works through the most-searched cities and specialties, confirming offices one call at a time.
- A patient reports a visit. When a CHAMPVA family tells us a provider accepted their coverage, we follow up with the office to confirm, then badge it.
The rules we hold ourselves to
- Never for sale. Paid placements buy position on the page, clearly labeled. They cannot buy the badge.
- Dated, and rechecked. Offices change billing policies, so badges show when confirmation happened and we recheck on a rolling basis.
- Removed on report. If a family reports being turned away, we recheck immediately and pull the badge if the office no longer accepts CHAMPVA.
